Hire for Results, Not Renders

There are hundreds of studios that can produce a beautiful render, and their portfolios often look surprisingly similar. That makes choosing harder than it seems. A portfolio shows what a studio can make, but not how they work, how they communicate, or whether they understand what the images are actually for. For a developer, those things usually matter far more than whether one studio’s lighting is slightly better than another’s.

A good starting point is to notice what a studio asks before giving you a quote. Do they only want drawings and a deadline, or do they ask who your buyers are, how the project will be sold, and where the images will be used? Is their process clear, with defined stages where you can review and comment before the final images? And what happens when you need changes? Unclear revision terms are where most frustrations begin.

It’s also worth thinking beyond the first set of images. A development needs exteriors, interiors, floor plans, often an animation or a virtual tour, and all of it should look like it belongs to the same project. Working with one studio that can deliver the full package saves time and keeps the story consistent. Finally, ask how and when they communicate. A partner who responds quickly and keeps you updated makes the whole process easier.

We’re a visualization studio ourselves, so we know this advice comes from someone with a stake in it. But these are exactly the questions we’d want any developer to ask us. A good partnership shouldn’t depend on hoping things go well. It should be clear from the first conversation how the work will be done and what you’ll get in the end. So ask us. We’re happy to answer every one of them.
